A Hollywood production has wrapped up filming in Yarmouth.
Scenes for ‘The Lighthouse,’ directed by Robert Eggers were filmed in Cape Forchu and inside a large hangar at the Yarmouth Airport over the last month.
Location Manager for the production Shaun Clarke says the stars of the film, Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, really enjoyed their stay here.
“Nobody harassed or bugged them. The odd person would come up and look for an autograph or a selfie, and they were more than happy to accommodate them. I think they were very pleased with the town and the reception they got, and the general friendly nature of the residents.”
Clarke says everything was ‘ten out of ten’ as far as filming the production goes and they got some beautiful shots.
The set at Cape Forchu is currently being taken down, and the area will be restored to its former condition.
Clarke says final scenes are currently being filmed in Halifax.
He says he also took many photos to have on file for potential future productions.
“Main Street itself is a great street, it has a really nice look that can work for a North American small-town look. Beautiful Victorian buildings, even some of the highways. It’s a great area.”
Clarke says of course, a script would be needed before any promises of more filming productions.
