It’s all about boats this weekend in Mahone Bay.
The Heritage Boatyard Weekend celebrates Canada’s shipbuilding history, the craftsmen and ships that put Canada on the map.
This year’s event will also look back at Canada’s 100th anniversary, Expo 67 in Montreal, where local shipwrights built the schooner Atlantica on-site at the Maritime Pavillion.
Atlantica will be moored on the town wharf this weekend for on-board visits.
Other events include a ship model show, a guide to all types of sailing vessels, a walking tour of the town’s ‘ghost’ boatyards, and boat tours all around the bay.
