Newfoundland and Labrador folk legend Ron Hynes had dies at the age of 64.
The Acclaimed singer-songwriter died after a brief battle with cancer.
Hynes called himself the man of a thousand songs, coined in a folk song he wrote about the lonely side of being a singer.
He’s best known for his song Sonny’s Dream, about a mother losing her son to the sea.
The song has been covered by many artists from all corners of the world.
