A seniors complex in Bridgewater has been hit by bed bugs.
An official with Housing Nova Scotia confirms one apartment at Westmount Manor was affected.
Director of Public Affairs, Stephan Richard, says a company was called in on Monday to address the situation.
He says they are taking precautions.
“The situation is under control. We checked the joining apartments and we didn’t find anything.”
Richard says residents received a letter advising them of the issue.
The cause or source of the bed bugs is unknown.
Richard says another team along with a sniffer dog will make sure the place is free of bed bugs on August 17.
