Founder Jeremy Wellard is announcing his retirement.
The 45 year-old spent the past 14 years as president and CEO of the gaming company.
Wellard cites the completion of his biggest project – The Golf Club – as the right time to step down.
The game allows people to play golf and also create courses.
Alan Bunker has been appointed CEO of HB Studios.
The company is the largest video game developer in Atlantic Canada with roughly 80 staff in Lunenburg.
