Town council in Bridgewater will explore lowering the residential and business tax rate.
Preliminary budget discussions are underway in the town.
Mayor David Walker says they are looking to reduce the rates to offset increases in assessment.
Walker says they hope to provide a break on tax bills – however – there are no guarantees.
He is confident there won’t be any increases in taxes.
The residential and commercial tax rate is $1.65 and $3.99 per 100 of assessment respectively.
