South Shore residents are being warned about a phone scam making the rounds! The RCMP tell us a Lunenburg County resident got a call from someone a few days ago. The caller claimed to be from Revenue Canada and demanded the resident pay a past due amount of 16-hundred dollars, or else. The fraudster offered to pass the resident to the billing department if the resident provided a recorded voice contract to pay up. The RCMP says be wary of these calls and to contact them or Crimestoppers if you receive one. A reminder, Revenue Canada does not make phone calls or send emails about any past due amounts.
