Nova Scotia Power will use text messages as a new method to connect with customers during storms and outages. The utility will also overhaul their automated messaging system to include personalized updates for callers regarding power outages. It’s in response to Post Tropical Storm Arthur. Improving the outage map, phone system and its communication methods are all part of recommendations made in the aftermath of the powerful storm. Many people were frustrated because they couldn’t get up to date information from the company during the storm.
