A 53 year-old man is the victim of a possible weekend drowning at a Nova Scotia beach. The incident happened near Halifax, at Lawrencetown Beach, on Saturday morning. Witnesses told police the man was canoeing – when he tipped over in the water. Two off-duty volunteer firefighters went in to try and save the man. Police say he was unconscious when he was pulled into shore. The Halifax-area man was taken to hospital and later passed away. His name has not be released.
