A 16 year-old boy will appear in court this week after allegedly stealing a car in Bridgewater.
The Bridgewater Police Service was conducting a check point on St. Phillips Street on Friday.
The car was trying to avoid it and was stopped.
Police say the vehicle was stolen from a home shortly before reaching the check point.
The owner learned that the vehicle was stolen after speaking with police.
The accused male has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, taking a motor vehicle without consent and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
He is due in court on Wednesday.
