A group of 20 firefighters on loan to help fight a wild fire in Manitoba have returned home.
Crew Lead, Jamie Brown, and his team flew out on May 13.
He says the last few weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind.
“We spent the first seven days camping right on the fire line,” he says. “But the terrain was the most challenging part. Steep hills, rock cliffs, and swamp.”
Brown says damp weather in the area stopped a bad situation from becoming worse.
He’s back in Queens County getting some well earned rest.
But he says with temperatures on the rise there’s a good chance he’ll have to head back out before too long.
