Many people in Lunenburg County woke early this morning to an unexpected thunderstorm.
A weather event forecasted to miss us swept across most of Mainland Nova Scotia at around 5 a.m.
Environment Canada says while the storm was loud it was short lived.
The forecasting service says the rest of the weekend should be mostly cloudy with mild temperatures.
Facebook and twitter lit up with people talking about the storm.
Many saying the light show was a welcome surprise.
Nova Scotia Power didn’t report any major outages.
