Going once, going twice, sold.
Health Services Foundation of the South Shore are gearing up for their second-annual online auction.
It takes place on the 31st as a pre-cursor to the Radiothon fundraiser for the South Shore Regional Hospital.
Their goal this year is to raise $150,000.
Alison Clements with the Foundation says they are also bringing back the Bucket Brigade to help.
They will spread across Lunenburg County in places like Sobey’s in Bridgewater and the Tim Hortons in Mahone Bay to collect change.
Clements says $150,000 doesn’t happen in just one day.
“It happens with all the fundraisers leading up to,” she says.
“So, while you might only be able to a quarter, or whatever’s left over from your coffee money that day, all that small change will make a big change.”
A shed from the NSCC, overnight stays and sports memorabilia are a few items up for auction.
Clements with the Foundation says they also have the infamous tie of Jonathan’s from County 100.7
“That is a highly contentious item that gets bid on, bdiding wars happen, so we’re really excited to get that back,” she says.
“Again, on the online platform because it’s super easy to use.”
Last year’s online auction raised $12,000 and will take place on the 31st.
The Bucket Brigade will follow on Feb. 2nd.
And finally the eight-annual Radiothon itself on Valentine’s Day.
Their goal this year is to raise $150,000 for a new Ultrasound Unit at South Shore Regional.
