Dayspring Deputy Chief Dean Schmeisser says the situation could have been much worse.
“The building was totally destroyed. Some exposure to some neighbouring buildings. The only thing that was lost was the building itself and the contents inside. No injuries whatsoever.”

Schmeisser says the house was completely spared and they were able to contain the blaze before it caused any major damage to the surrounding buildings.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
