A Lunenburg company has received a financial boost from the federal government.
Nova Wood Products Limited picked up $275,000 no-interest repayable 5-year loan through ACOA to help modernize their facility.
Vice-President Scott McVittie, says they service a wide range of clients.
“Nova Wood Products manufactures architectural woodwork for the construction industry. Our projects include schools, hospitals, hotels. senior residences, stores and offices.”
That woodwork can include built-in cabinets, millwork and reception desks.
The funding allows the company to enlarge its lacquer finishing area and buy automated equipment to help with the sanding, and spray finishing of wood products.
McVittie, says the equipment was installed earlier this year and is already making a difference.
“The new equipment has made a very positive impact on our quality, productivity and capacity.”
The changes will not only help secure 30 full time jobs, but will also allow them to bid on larger projects.
