The MP for West Nova says good relations between Canada and the United States are important.
But Colin Fraser says it’s difficult dealing with President Donald Trump and his administration.
Fraser says the current trade war between the two countries is a good example.
“We have to stick to the facts. The United States has a trade surplus, it’s a small one, but it’s still a surplus. Listening to the President, you would think that it’s not a fair deal. Fact is, it is a fair deal and it’s working for both countries.”
He says it’s necessary for Canada to impose retaliatory tariffs in hopes affected American interests will lobby the Trump administration to end its trade battle with Canada.
